Fashion Week Low Key Power Dressing

When others chose maxi-heels, I want kitten-booties.  Where they flaunt furs and bold printed dresses, I demure in soft brown corduroys.  Low-key has a distinct voice and a is convincing argument even during Fashion Week.   It’s coming up fast, beginning February 8th.  Boyfriend jeans, brogues, and  soft cardigans are the staples of my arsenal, and a warrior spirit to conquer the madness.  Stay tuned for full coverage with my new best friend, the Cannon S100.

TNT and Chloe Malle Cocktails At Acme

Last night’s hipster party thrown for social columnist’s Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis [TNT} and Chloe Malle at the newly revamped Acme restaurant on Great Jones street was flooded with energy.  LSD was as radiant as a teenager as she gushed over the sheer genius that surrounds her.

Not ones to dress it down, girls looked as glamorous as ever newly refreshed from decadent vacation time.

WINNING At the Golden Globes

Watching award shows can bring up a complicated mix of emotions.  Worship, awe, envy, jealousy, love and adoration are all commingling at warp speed.  While I love to catch a faux pas for a good chuckle, nothing beats the divine inspiration resulting from a flawless match up of beauty and personae.

Tilda, Natalie, Shailene, Emma and Charlize define SuperStar glamour for me.  Looking down to earth while descended from the heavens is the ultimate Hollywood challenge, and these ladies nailed by letting their grounded smarts outshine their bling.

Fifth Avenue Holiday Windows

Go See Venus In Fur Starring Nina Arianda and Hugh Dancy

Women, fur, power, thunder, lightening and lingerie.  Nina Arianda kills it in Broadway’s stylish sex comedy Venus In Fur at the Samuel  J. Friedman Theatre through December 18th.  Written by David Ives after becoming fascinated with classic torture-lust fable The Story of O (he seems like a sweet, well-adjusted man with a great sense of humor)….

Paz Project for L-ATITUDE

Art, fashion, music, tequila cocktails and delicious hors d’oeuvres from East Village Taqueria Hecho en Dumbo kicked off the Paz event last night joining dyed-in-the-wool enthusiasts of Mexico’s rich and vibrant culture and protectors of awareness, Project Paz.   Last night’s Soho event hosted by Peter Davis, Eddie Borgo, Fernando Romero and Valerie Boster was a stimulating evening reminiscent of good times spent on Mexican pilgrimages; warm smiles, honest embrace, a loose, earthy attitude and plenty of spirit.  The art was characteristically colorful, peppery and ironic while the fashions indicated a deep love for artisanal integrity.  Textures, color and pattern mixed with sharp urban silhouettes for a fiery statement on global style.
